Since receiving a slight face-lift and a new title a few weeks ago, Countdown to Final Crisis had actually improved a fair bit. When a surprising character dies in chapter one, it sets off an unexpected ripple that will touch virtually every character in the DC Universe and change the status quo forever.This volume collects COUNTDOWN #51-39. It makes the overall package seem like chapters are missing. Halfway through, the series was renamed Countdown to Final Crisis. Fifty-one issues?! You've heard it, you may have even said it. COUNTDOWN follows up the events of bestsellers INFINITE CRISIS and 52 and leads into DC's next major event, FINAL CRISIS. I think so far it's pretty good, or at the very least interesting. For my own sanity, this title will mercifully be at an end soon and I can cease chronicling this story for the benefit of others. This just might be the worst title that is currently on the market.
